​Role and responsibilities

  • Produce designs for all civil engineering services required by clients.

  • Liaise with colleagues and construction professionals throughout the design and construction process.

  • Use knowledge of the building process, procurement, design management and control and interaction with other stakeholders in the construction process.

  • Produce fee proposals for the projects.

  • Identify and manage project risks and prepare risk assessments.

  • Carry out professional development and maintaining records in accordance with ICE requirements to progress to EngTech/IEng/CEng status.

  • Establish yourself as a key contact with other consultants and partners and to represent the company at design team meetings.

  • Build and maintain good rapport with internal and external clients.

  • Produce and approve single and multi-discipline fee proposals for customer projects.

  • Understand financial control when acting as a project manager.

  • Supervise and support junior engineers.

Software capabilities

  • AutoCAD, PDS Site Developer / Civil 3D, XP Solutions suite, Micro-drainage, MS Project or similar, TEDDS, and other industry recognised software.

Education requirements

  • MEng Civil Engineering degree from an ICE approved course.

  • Approaching chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers.
